Star Trek: Starbase 777

One was.... first? How curious. It didn't happen very often that they arrived somewhere first. It also wasn't like they went on away missions very often, but the last time wasn't so bad, so here they were again.

Kya hummed as appeared, stood quietly in the airlock, offering a kind wave to One.

Rozamal pressed his cane against the ground and smiled at One and Kya. “Good tidings my friends! Are we ready for an adventure?”

After a little bit, Paco arrived here as well, stretching before he waved at the others "Hallo!"

While he wasn’t often one for away missions, a mysterious signal without records related to it certainly proved to be an interesting security risk…Maxson spent much of his time in the airlock going over a go-no-go list on his PADD, though he offered vague nods of acknowledgement toward whoever entered.

Four heard the call and immediately began to move towards the airlock. Their movements were quick and their purpose was set. Four softly reminded themselves to do their Queen proud. This kind of assistance could be quite beneficial to not only them, but for the view of the Borg. Their original Queen would wish for them to do their duty, and they were ready to do such a thing. Once Four had arrived they stood at attention and waited for further orders. Just standing still and motionless as was proper for one of their station.

Jidol arrived shortly after Four. He gave his colleague a quick wave and greeted the few already assembled with a: "Hi" He himself hadn't been on an away mission for a while but thought that someone could always use another pilot.

Five moved quickly. It was almost funny, how he always slotted into away missions nowadays, while initially being incredibly apprehensive.. Ah! He slotted into place beside his good buddy One, hands neatly folded in front of them.

Four nodded toward Jidol. They bowed toward their superior and then raose up quickly with a solid salute. Their hand then shot down to their side. "Hello, Lieutenant." Four said before they turned on their heel back to attention toward the front.

First!! Away!! Mission!! Ekhesai bounced into place, holding her head up high! She should probably be a lot more apprehensive. She was not. Too excited.

Being the ACOS of the station, Jenaha quickly made her way to the airlock the moment the call for the Eventide's crew was announced, still nursing a cup of coffee in her hands as she arrived. *"G'day everyone! Commander." *She greeted everyone with a warm smile before she walked over to Maxson to greet him in particular with a nod as she stood close by to him.

He lifted his head away from his PADD when Jena found her way beside him. Ah, well, good company. He nodded to her, his expression softening…slightly, “Commander. I…hope the morning has been…treating you well.” Are they…friends? Not particularly, but…getting there, at least. He also took note of Sai, offering her a pointed nod, “Cadet. Good to see you again.”

Evoras was usually interested in away missions, that was always when she was not otherwise occupied. It would be a bit much to say she enjoyed them, after all the occasions were more often than not the result of an at least somewhat precarious situation, but he location change was always a breath of fresh air. She gave small nods to the people she knew and found a place she could stand.

Khanwi was finally out of the backlogs, and on his first away mission since joining the Station half a year ago.... whoops. He walked into the airlock, looked at the wall of people, and muscled his way to one of the bulkheads so he wouldn't stand out too much.

Finally an opportunity to see some action! Maran had come immediately when the call went out, joining the flood of officers pouring into the airlock. Flood. Airlock. Ha ha. What a coincidence, or something. "A distress signal. Run-of-the-mill action, then." He said to the Klingon standing alone by the bulkhead. "It had better not be a trick. If so, I swear to the Founders-"

"Likewise. Aside from this, it's just been pleasantly business as usual." Jena answered Maxson with a soft smile before she sipped her coffee again. By default she would say were friends in the most general sense of the word. The Betazoid's expression brightened up a bit as she saw Sai arrive. "Cadet! I'm glad to see you with us. This should be very good experience for you!" (edited)

Ekhesai beamed as she was recognized. "I'm nervous, but I'm excited at the same time! I hope I do okay!"

Five stepped up; having definitely totally been given the rundown and definitely totally qualified to give a little briefing. It wasn't like anyone else was stepping up, so! "Okay— we'll be taking a trip to Hamar IV, following a distress signal. We weren't given many— any— details beyond that. So, everyone be on your guard, be ready for anything. Alright?"

“Aye.” The security commander returned his gaze to the go-no-go list on his PADD. Double-checking, triple-check. His hand brushed against the phaser resting in his holster for a moment, just to make sure it was there. As he’s doing so, his eyes slid over to Ekhesai, “You’ll do fine…better than okay, I’d imagine. Just…listen closely.”

"Yessir!" She could do that. She could listen. She was going to get a good grade in Mission if it was the last thing she did.

Aww Maxson cares, that's cute! "You'll do great, Cadet. Never be afraid to ask for help though." She added with a nod before she turned over to Fives and listened in to the briefing (edited)

"Yes Lieutenant, mission accepted and recognized." Four gave another salute before getting ready to leave the station. Checking their pack and all their items. Unfortunately they wouldn't be able to bring their...Reman Ritual Implements. They could have proved useful, however, there should be plenty of different defensive weapons. As well, they were capable of defending themselves. It was moreso a duty of protecting their crew.

For some reason that was beyond them, Paco couldn't stop thinking about onion chives when listening to Fives, but he listened diligently and nodded along and gave a thumbs up.

"Understood." The Jem'hadar rumbled. Yay, another mission for which they had nearly zero details! He very much preferred going into battle knowing as much about his opponent as possible - but he'd also learned in his many years out of Dominion space that that was rarely ever possible. Go figure.

Like any good mission, it needed more senior crew to-- actually, why were there always senior officers on all the away missions?.. Anyways, so here Saren was, representing the analytical blue of the Starfleet, ready to assist with the mystery afoot! The gathered officers were greeted with a polite nod.

And of course, to get somewhere, a man who knew how to pilot a ship was needed! So here one was in all his tall glory, going shoulder-to-shoulder with his cousin and chattering away about some retro Earth film he recently got his hands on. Something about a mummy coming back to life and also, bugs?..

"Great! Okay. Everybody to the Eventide, then." To the Eventide!!!

She hummed as she walked to the ship.

He did the same, his cane clanking against the ground.

Onwards and upwards. Had he ever been aboard the Eventide properly? First time for everything. He followed the others.

Jidol was slowly following the others, he too had never been on the Eventide before. He wondered whether his skills as a pilot would be needed today.

When the announcement was made, Maya didn't think too much of it at first and continued on to do her own thing. After a little bit, the words of the announcement bounced on her head again as she sprayed space WD-40(?) on a door hinge, and then the realization that she was part of the Eventide's crew roster. And so from somewhere in the other side of the station, she basically hauled ass to the airlock. "Away mission! Ship! stuff!" Maya excitedly said as she arrived right as everyone else was getting to the Eventide, and scooped Paco to a hug and shook him by the shoulders Rick and Morty style before boarding herself.

Jena felt her blood pressure spike a little bit, but not as much as before which was a relief. Probably the coffee. Nevertheless, she nodded and followed the others.

After he got his bearings back after typical cousin stuff, he took a deep breath and got on the eventide

Four picked up their pack and walked onto the Eventide. They had never been on the vessel either. It would be good to memorize the ship in order to get a rough schematic within their head. As well, perhaps even lend assistance to Jidol. They were unsure if they would need assistance but they may also be pulled to do protection for an away team. Either way, they would fulfill their duties to the best of their ability.

Vara'l arrived at the airlock. Once he'd double checked his grab bag was all good and re-read the message he'd sent to Elohae, he headed onto the ship. His son would be fine, the babysitter was with them and everything was arranged. Nothing to worry about there.
